About CARTEENS Program
The 4-H CARTEENS program began in Erie County in 2007 and is a traffic safety program for first-time juvenile traffic offenders. In partnership with the Erie County Juvenile Court, the Sandusky post of the State Highway Patrol, and Firelands Regional Medical Center, a two-hour traffic safety education program is facilitated by 4-H older youth every-other month. The CARTEENS members lead group-learning activities focused on traffic safety and provide overall coordination of the session.
